About Casitas Rowing

PROGRAMS
The Lake Casitas Rowing Association offers rowing lessons and teams to members of our community. We currently have people rowing in our various programs from age 13 - 77 years old. Included are summer programs teaching people the basics of rowing, as well as year round teams that practice on a regular basis for either recreational or competitive racing.

Mission
The mission of the Lake Casitas Rowing Association is to provide an educational program with ongoing community instruction and training of juniors and adults in the art of rowing. Our purpose is to promote a lifetime appreciation of fitness, recreation, environmental awareness of issues surrounding Lake Casitas, and in particular, positive and wholesome development of our county’s youth.

Public Benefit
Casitas Rowing regularly hosts community based outreach events to offer rowing to groups of kids that might not normally have the opportunity to participate. We have partnered with several regional youth organizations such as City Corps, Boys and Girls Clubs, Girls Inc., Casa Pacifica, United Way, and others to offer no cost Learn to Row and team building events. We also are putting on annual school field trips for kids in grades 8-12. In addition to these private group events, we also offer ongoing community Learn to Row events open to the public.

Volunteerism
The perpetuation of our organization is largely based on volunteer activities, whether it be membership on our Board of Directors, helping drive the kids to and from practice each day, or maintaining much of the equipment and facilities. We are very fortunate to have such a wonderful support group, and for all those that contribute (which their are too many to name) we appreciate your many efforts. It is only with this help and generosity that we are able to continue our mission, so thank you.

Lake Casitas
California is fortunate to have such a wonderful sanctuary as Lake Casitas. The lake is a beautiful place to row and we continue our commitment to educate our members on the delicate environmental balance that is continually walked when trying to both preserve this resource and at the same time make it available for enjoyment by the community.

Casitas Rowing is excited to work with the Lake Casitas Improvement Foundation, an organization committed to finding new and exciting ways of supporting our community through various recreational programs at the lake.
