Eric comes to us with over 20 years experience in the sport of rowing. Having previously won five state championships, two national titles, and a silver medal from the World Championships in Germany, Gillett offers his students a positive program that is exciting, inclusive, and challenging. |
Wendy Gillett JUNIOR COACH Wendy was a top level coxswain in college and has (as most coxswains do) more energy than all of us combined. She brings her experience in leading the crews and also her teaching of over a thousand students in summer rowing programs. |

James Martinez
SUMMER SCULLING COACH
James began rowing in 1989 training mainly at DC's Potomac Boat Club and the Newport Aquatic Center here in Southern California. He has represented the US on the National Team and Olympic Squads in international competitions from 1993 to 1998 finding ranking in the top 5 in the world for a majority of those years. James holds the USRowing Level III Coaching certification and has taught both masters and junior rowers at Newport Aquatic Center and Kent School.

Robert "Buck" Grossfield
JUNIOR ASSISTANT COACH
Buck rowed with the UCLA Men's Crew and brings a positive and energetic coaching style, helping novices feel comfortable and at ease. Buck uses his years of experience to assist novices with rowing technique analysis through on the water team video evaluations and personalized one-on-one coaching. Buck recently won Gold and Silver medals at the 2009 State Championships in the 8+ and 4+. |
