middle school rowing machine challenge

Every year we reach over 3500 kids through our partnership with the local school districts, and taking our rowing machines into the PE classes and exposing kids to the exciting sport of rowing doing our 1-minute race with video game display projected on the wall and high energy game day announcing by our coaches. Link to watch the video of kids in action HERE.

Do you have a school or organization that supports large groups of kids between 6th - 12th grade? Can we come and put on a rowing machine event this year?

Who won this year’s Middle School Erg Challenge?

stem to stern

Casitas Rowing is the only Southern California team to be selected by USRowing and Stem to Stern for their nation wide outreach program, helping teams break down barriers to our sport, and providing the kids no cost STEM classes at school.

Financial Aid

Our board of directors offers a way for families to apply for financial aid, to help parents that demonstrate a need for support covering some or all of rowing club dues. About 25% of our junior athletes are on some level of financial aid. This program is funded each year through donations by our local community organizations and private donors. Please join us in removing the financial barriers to this sport, and donate today.

“feeding rowers and coxswains”

We are proud of our feeding rowers and coxswains program that allows us to go and buy food and bring it to practice. Sometimes it is small snacks, sometimes parents help us bringing full meals to eat after practice and take home. We ask a lot of our athletes, they burn a lot of calories…. let’s help them refuel :-).

Freedom rows

Casitas Rowing is partnered with USrowing’s FREEDOM ROWS providing no cost rowing to disabled vets. We take our rowing machines to local military events to spread the word and recruit for this program. We are excited to support our military and give back to those who have given us so much. Come out to Lake Casitas and take the next step!

adaptive rowing

Adaptive rowing on Lake Casitas helps athletes with many different physical challenges. A lot of our athletes roll up in their wheel chairs and our coaches and volunteers help get them trained to a level they are capable of doing, whether it be working out on the rowing machines, or going out in stable one person boats with pontoons or team boats often with other able bodied athletes. We are excited to support these folks break through barriers and feel the excitement of rowing on Lake Casitas.

together we can make this happen

Contact us today, and let’s talk about how we can work together and keep building these programs. We 100% need the volunteers and the help. We partner with people and companies in many ways, no one style is required.
